Breaking technology that can significantly affect motorcycle imports

If you are doing motorcycle imports or even export, you should keep yourself up to date with the newest features that different motorcycle manufacturers develop for their motorcycles. One of the features that many motorcycles have nowadays are ABS assisted braking systems. Such features were very rare just a few decades ago. But now they are becoming more and more of a necessity if a motorcycle manufacturer wants to compete with other brands. The first motorcycle manufacturer to develop this system and incorporate it into their motorcycles was BMW way back in 1988. And since then BMW has remained at the forfront of ABS technology, having recently created more advanced ABS technologies such as the ASC (Automatic Stability Control) system which is a traction control system. More recently BMW came up with the DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) system as well that is a more advanced version of the ASC system mentioned above. Motorcycle traders should definitely be aware of these new technologies when looking to place new orders for imports or exports.

Other technologies that are important for motorcycle imports

Another feature that is becoming more and more common on motorcycles these days are Cruise Control Systems. Again BMW is one of the pioneers of this technology and has a Dynamic Cruise Control system that works alongside their ABS systems. A newer update to this system is their ACC (Active Cruise Control) system. These are radar assisted systems that help prevent accidents while controlling fuel consumption and maintaining speed. Such systems have been present in the automobile industry for quite some time. Different manufacturers such as Mitsubishi and later Mercedes have used and develop such systems for their cars since the early 1990’s. But such systems are more complicated to implement for motorcycles. And that is why motorcycle manufacturers such as BMW that have managed to incorporate this feature into their models are gaining a lot of praise.

Look at your target market to determine what features to focus on

There are different kinds of motorcycle riders out there in the market and it depends which kind of consumer and market you are trying to target. If your target market are mostly young reckless motorcycle riders who don’t care a lot about safety they may not care that much about such features. But if your customers are looking for motorcycles that will ensure a safe and smooth riding experience without having to worry about sudden surprises, then these features will be extremely important for them.
